The tailband is etched along its surface with the image of a panther sleeping in a field amidst blooming nightshade, hemlock, and monkshood blossoms. Subtle silver tinting shows where the moon shines upon its form, and outlines the edges of the flowers around it. Along the inside of the tailband, the maker's mark has been engraved using an elegant script.
