Fastened using two heavy silver chains, the epaulet is shaped in the fashion of a minature shield. It bears the image of a wren perched upon a fisted gauntlet over a lute of gold. The maker's mark has been engraved in block print along the back of the item.

A hammered silver epaulet reads:
"D&K of Shard"
