[War at Sea]
This boat is rather large for a dinghy, but it is still cramped with the merchandise scattered about. The white paint along the sides is peeling badly, and a coil of rotted rope sits in one corner. Pervading the air is a faint scent of old fish. You also see a splintery plank, a wooden pirate with some stuff on it, an oaken sea chest with some stuff on it, and a red and white life preserver with some stuff on it.
Obvious paths: none.
On the wooden pirate you see some dulled steel vambraces, some dulled steel shynbalds, a comb morion helm, some dark spiked gauntlets and a blackened steel cuirass.
On the sea chest you see a teak-handled boarding axe, a finely balanced cutlass etched with a skull and crossbones and a wickedly barbed harpoon.
On the life preserver you see a copper-headed cudgel, a shark-embossed cudgel and an oyster-shucking knife.
[The Strawberry Patch, Front Room]
Creamy white panels make up the walls of this tent. Strawberry patches with plump fruit and bright green leaves have been painted randomly along the panels. In each corner strawberry and leaf shaped pillows have been placed haphazardly. Chests and boxes are scattered about with merchandise placed artfully to continue the illusion of being in a strawberry patch. You also see a dress form with some stuff on it and a tent flap.
Obvious exits: none.
On the dress form you see a red and silver brocade gown with a ruby silk underskirt and an ivory satin cape with embroidered strawberries along the hem.
On the oaken chest you see a silver strawberry plant with ruby berries and green sapphire leaves and a small bowl that has green strawberry leaves painted on the whole surface and interior.
On the mahogany chest you see an ivory spidersilk wrist purse embroidered with strawberries, a pair of embroidered satin slippers with soft leather soles, a cotton apron decorated with painted bowls of strawberries and cream and a circlet of crimson glass strawberries woven through braided green ribbons.
On the brown box you see a canvas knapsack embroidered with garden implements and a strawberry-shaped backpack with vines embroidered along the straps.
On the green pillow you see a diamond-dusted cambrinth strawberry with green sapphire leaves, a delicate brushed gold anklet with dangling cambrinth strawberries, a delicate white gold anklet with dangling cambrinth strawberries and a delicate silver anklet with dangling cambrinth strawberries.
[Andreshlew, Sinuous Shore Road]
Walls rise up on both sides of the road. The seaside wall is low and easy to see over. In the landside wall a large gate is guarded by two Merelew. Soft green-yellow light is shed from the globes on top of the pillars standing sentinel along the eastern wall. You also see a simple lean-to and a grey and silver silk tent.
Obvious paths: east, northwest.
[The Initial Idea]
Planks lashed tightly together form a sturdy lean-to that protects the interior from wind and heat. The space contains only a simple counter with a small work area behind it. A driftwood stool sits behind the display, and buckets and containers are neatly stacked next to it. On the counter, corded pendants sway from their perches occasionally, their glass baubles clinking together lightly. You also see a cloth sign and the outdoors.
Obvious exits: none.
The sign says:
Welcome.
When I am here, I am glad to exchange the color or the object in your pendant, or both, for a small fee. When I am not here, I will not do these things.
Only one color of sand and only one object can fit in a single pendant.
-- Merme
On the simple counter you see a green rack, a red rack, a blue rack, a yellow rack and a tidy note.
A tidy note reads:
"It is advised that you TAP or GET the desired pendant from the appropriate rack before you BUY it, to ensure you are receiving the one you wanted. Refunds are not provided for purchasing errors."
On the green rack you see a blown-glass "G" pendant suspended from a black leather cord, a blown-glass "H" pendant suspended from a black leather cord, a blown-glass "I" pendant suspended from a black leather cord, a blown-glass "J" pendant suspended from a black leather cord, a blown-glass "K" pendant suspended from a black leather cord and a blown-glass "L" pendant suspended from a black leather cord.

[Head to Toe, Showroom]
Grey and silver silk panels frame the walls of this shop. Stands are arranged in front of a mahogany counter polished to a high sheen that is bare except for a silver tray in one corner. Racks behind the counter are draped with different fabrics. Clerks talk in muted voices pointing out the mannequins and then step back to wait quietly. You also see a tent flap.
Obvious exits: none.
On the teak stand you see a rough white cotton shirt with hanging threads and seams showing and a torn black tie with the loop label sticking out.
On the cane stand you see an ironwood cane topped with a small crystal globe, a bloodwood cane topped with a ruby-eyed dragon's head, a driftwood cane with a handle shaped like a leaping dolphin and a gnarled mistwood cane with a handle shaped like a clenched fist.

[Andreshlew, Sinuous Shore Road]
The road stretches through a coral and sandstone archway flanked by two towers. The northern tower is carved with dolphins, the southern with sharks, and the coral of the arch bridging the two is formed into a repeating pattern of flying albatrosses. White light gleams from crystal globes on the towers' corners, offsetting the softer green-yellow radiating from the globes on the pillars. You also see a yellow silk tent and a kidskin leather tent.
Obvious paths: west.
[Small Friends]
The wind tickles the folds of the tent's billowy yellow silk with a sound like whispered secrets. Crystal orbs filled with fireflies hang from the weathered center beam, illuminating the interior with a soft amber glow. A grizzled old Elf, Tsinti by name but known to all as the Insect Seller, sits cross-legged on a woven mat with his crimson tunic gathered about him. You also see a willow cage, a birch cage, a bamboo cage, a woven reed basket, a parchment sign, and a tent flap.
Obvious exits: none.
If you desire to purchase a Small Friend, Tsinti
wishes that you take the following under advisement:
Your Small Friend will be a loyal companion if treated well.
WEAR it on your shoulder and it will happily sing to you,
keeping you company. Or, REMOVE it and PUT it in its home
box when you wish some silence or to transport it safely.
You must take caution with your Small Friend. It will not
wish to be GIVEN away when not in its home box, nor mistreated
in any way. If not treated with respect, your Small Friend
will hop away in search of a new companion, and Tsinti will
not be held responsible for this. It will be your own doing.

[Yaks and Packs, Front Room]
The smell of finely tanned leather permeates this tidy tent. Oaken planks laid to make the floor have been recently swept clean, leaving not a scrap of debris in sight. A group of young Halflings dart around the pedestals, gesturing towards the tops of various poles scattered about this small tent, attempting to get someone to assist them with their purchases. You also see a tent flap.

This end of the lane is shaded by several aquamarine coral trees draped with silken strands of flutter moss. They frame a small building made entirely from the horned carapace of some giant crustacean. Its translucent walls shade from cream to scarlet. A sign spans the round doorway, held in place by the creature's enormous claws. You also see an archway.
Obvious paths: northwest.
A sign reads:
"Eluned's Dreams in Flesh"

Watery beds of blue, campanular flowers surround a fluted alabaster fountain of heroic proportions. Depicting some sort of meeting between River Elves and S'Kra Mur, it is carved to size, with nearly a dozen figures encompassed by churning waves and surging sea foam. The circular base of the fountain is nearly as large and covered by writing in a cursive script. It is apparently hollow, judging by the round doorway which is propped open.
Obvious paths: east, southwest.
[Voi's Fine Heirlooms]
Four fluted alabaster pillars flank the doorway of this elegant store. From somewhere in the ceiling, a smooth sheet of water flows down the black marble rear wall, the better to reflect the customers in their finery. An important sign reads:
"Our speedy but not overly bright engraver will engrave a name on the orlog at no extra charge. If you want your name on the orlog, just tap it before you leave the store. If you want someone else's name on it, give them the orlog and have them tap it in the store. This can only be done once because our superior engraving cannot be removed without defacing the orlog. No exceptions, no refunds, no returns."
[Andreshlew, Suporni Tomerszentani]
Saltwater garden patches irrigated from somewhere out of view dot this region. Each is home to a mixture of blue corals, white and black lotus pads, and delicate tufts of golden seaweave grass. A couple of Merelew gardeners slosh their webbed feet through the heavy, wet sand, gently pruning and occasionally crooning in high, twittering tones to the life they tend. You also see a covered grotto.
Obvious paths: northeast, south.
[Saltwater Grotto]
Cool air circulates through this roomy grotto. Except for a few large rocks strewn about the area, the space is undecorated. A squat structure supporting a low, hemispherical cupola occupies the space to the north of the lane, opposite a massive copper bell. The building is composed of bricks made from compressed shells, mortared with bright yellow amber. A lobed archway as high as the structure itself forms the entrance. An inscription is floridly chiseled into the brick surrounding it.
Obvious paths: north, east, west.
[Silah's Sundries]
Belying the simple exterior, cool green stone tiling spreads across the room blending into blue-grey crystalline walls. A small archway cuts through the back wall and into a dim room beyond. Two walls of black granite latticework line the lane above massive blue sandbanks. From behind the walls stare small, naked, green-skinned children, waving webbed fingers, squealing and giggling. Occasionally a child throws down a colorful, spinning, silver-winged toy at the heads of passersby, only to have it recoil swiftly into the hands of its owner before it hits. You also see a weathered shack.
Obvious paths: east, northwest.
[Under the Sea]
Smoothly sanded, the walls consist of light grey weathered wood. Though small, the shack is efficiently organized to allow for movement within the limited space. The building is covered with blue floral mosaics imbedded within a golden background, and surmounted by a ribbed octagonal copper minaret that curves on high to a hooked tip. From that hook depends a swinging bronze plaque.
Obvious paths: southeast.
[Armaments by Sqinth]
The somber brown stucco walls of this room are hung with hunting trophies appropriate to the sea, including horned shark tusks, barbed harpoons, and a pair of harpy wings. [Andreshlew, Falashtan]
The road slopes through a well-shaded region covered with massive blue and red lichen patches. Their heavy growths have been carefully trimmed into broad, conical shapes, inset with pale glowstones. The lichen bushes stir slightly, perpetually undulating from side to side, although no breath of air stirs within the area. Beneath several specimens lies an eight-sided doorway leading into the earth, outlined in irregular glowstones that slowly shift between darkness and an angry red glare. You also see a vine-covered opening.
Obvious paths: north, south.
[Amphibifriends]
Rivulets of water cascade down bright coral and blue walls, adding a curtain of moisture to the warm air of this small shop. Cream-colored with mottled brown spots, the tiny toad almost disappears in the foliage of its pen, its amber eyes glancing hesitantly through the leaves. It darts its round tongue out occasionally to taste the air, causing the grass to shiver. He is standing.
The frog nearly blends into its surroundings, its deep green coloring fading to a paler color along the belly and legs. Large golden eyes peer serenely from its somewhat flat head, and its whitened throat bulges and retracts convulsively. He is standing.
A brownish-grey frog is a medium-sized amphibian with clawlike toes, each with a flat disc on the tip that allows it to cling to what it climbs. From its throat, a keening song frequently emerges. He is standing.

Set down below ground level, this grotto was dug out of the coral in several levels to allow for the needs and preferences of the amphibious Merelew. This room, where products are shown and purchased, is flooded about knee-deep on a Human. An opening high on the back wall seems to lead to another room, but it's hard to tell. A dark, rippling shadow under the water to one side seems to be a tunnel leading down to a completely submerged area. You also see a coral stand with some stuff on it, some taut netting with some stuff on it, an ivory rack with some stuff on it, a deep shelf with some stuff on it, a coral shelf with some stuff on it, and a sloping passage.
Obvious exits: none.
On the coral stand you see a long platinum headpiece sprinkled with green oval seaglass beads, a burnished gold headpiece accented by cascading ocean-blue sapphires, a darkened steel headpiece encrusted with tortuous black jade spirals, a polished bronze headpiece edged with dangling topaz beads and a pale silver headpiece sprinkled with gold-edged alabaster shells.
On the taut netting you see some chain greaves with a wave pattern worked into them in blue steel links, some silver chain greaves accented with hammered copper, some fine silver chain greaves edged with gold and emerald interlacing, some steel chain greaves bordered by onyx-inlaid brass scales and some heavy bronze greaves worked to a high polish.
On the ivory rack you see a polished silver mail shirt, a thigh-length silver chain shirt with a scale pattern worked in copper, a silver chain shirt worked with gold and emeralds, a suit of fine mail, a heavy bronze hauberk, a suit of double ring steel mail with a scale pattern worked in brass links, a full steel mail shirt with a border of brass scales etched and set with onyx and some fine bronze ring mail with the leather dyed sea green.
On the deep shelf you see a glittering chain coif with a war face worked in brass links, a glittering chain coif with a shark head worked in copper links, a glittering chain coif with a wave pattern worked into it in blue steel links, some silver chain gloves, some polished chain gloves with a wave pattern worked into them in blue steel links, some polished chain gloves with shark heads worked into them in copper links and some polished chain gloves with clawed hands worked into them in brass links.
On the coral shelf you see a delicate silver mesh headpiece with dangling coral teardrops, a long silver headpiece swagged with pearls, a silver mesh cap strung with seashell-shaped glass beads, a bronze chainmail wristband, a brass chainmail wristband, a golden wire mesh veil set with pearls and emeralds, a golden mesh choker, a silver mail belt with dangling clusters of exotic silver coins and a golden mail belt with dangling gold flowers.
[Usk'elneg Pell, Treasures Of The Deep]
A wild assortment of bizarre items -- most clearly scavenged off the floor of the ocean -- adorns so much of the walls that even a Gnome might have trouble finding a spot to lay a casual hand. Most of the odd things are quite beyond identification, and almost all wear tags proclaiming their status as "not for sale". Luckily for the ravenous consumer, there is still a wide assortment of goods ready for purchase. You also see some curved coral stairs, a rough coral wall-rack with some stuff on it, a murky glass case, and a brass door.
Obvious exits: none.
On the coral wall-rack you see a round seaturtle shell shield with dark leather straps, a brilliant red-orange coral shield banded with wrought brass designs, a broad steel tower shield inset with a seaglass mosaic, a burnished brass kite shield embossed with the image of a striking sea serpent, a polished black coral shield edged in platinum filigree, a horseshoe crab shell shield, a large tortoiseshell shield and a salt-stained tower shield scarred deeply with a seven-pointed star.
In the glass case you see a dented gold amulet bearing an Elothean visage, an intricately carved whalebone, a twisted seaweed necklace festooned with dangling coins, a darkened silver ring engraved with a seven-pointed star and a bleached whalebone earring.
[Usk'elneg Pell, Upstairs Balcony]
Though tinier than the room downstairs which this one overlooks, someone has decided that no smaller number of goods should be placed here. Sprawling nets made from the hair of a nameless sea mammal contain the merchandise in rough piles, perhaps to keep vagrant items from floating away when the island is submerged. You also see a giant turtle shell with some stuff on it, some curved coral stairs, and a rough net with some stuff on it.
Obvious exits: none.
On the turtle shell you see a faded uniform jacket from the Royal Fleet, a sharkskin jacket neatly trimmed with gold buttons, a dark crocodile-skin jacket emblazoned with a metallic blue turtle, a discolored broadsword faintly etched with a seven-pointed star, a brass cutlass tinted with a greenish patina, a white-coral walking stick capped with a gold skull and a massive war hammer with a warped bone hilt.
On the rough net you see an iridescent windfish scale coat with a mottled design cresting at the shoulders, a salt-stained brown leather jacket with partially corroded copper buttons, a heavy black wool peacoat with polished dark coral buttons, a greenish-brown jacket of intricately woven seaweed with silver sandkronar buttons and a supple grey sealskin jacket with a trio of large brass buttons.
[Corroded Corner, Damp Cave]
Barnacle-encrusted pilings flank the exit of this cave, supporting a waterlogged expanse of ship hull used as decoration. Moisture clings to the uneven surface of the cavern walls, trickling down occasionally to gather in small pools on the rough stone floor. A large sign hangs over the counter while a banded oak barrel sits just to the side. On the opposite wall rests a massive iron anchor, weathered and clearly having seen better days. You also see a darkly stained oak stand under the anchor with some stuff on it and a prominent table in the center of the chamber with a glass brigantine sculpture riding cobalt glass waves on it.
Obvious exits: none.
A prominent sign reads:
These treasures were recovered from several dangerous excursions to the deepest parts of the seas at great expense. The prices on these items reflect these incursions. We have attempted to clean everything to the best of our ability without compromising their integrity. We do not assure quality and there are no refunds. Items may still have some moisture but that should clear up in time. The sculpture is not for sale.
In the oak barrel you see a small corroded peg nail and a large corroded peg nail.
On the oak stand you see a small card, a scuffed and rusted brass pendant-orlog, a scuffed and rusted brass orlog and a woven basket.
A small card reads:
We found a shipment of these orlogs in a crate submerged quite some time at the bottom of the sea. They are somewhat damaged but we are assured they are repairable for the industrious person. Our prices reflect this incurred expense.
In the woven basket you see a tarnished brass key.
[Andreshlew, Raldtanagi]
Emerald ore sparkles everywhere in this cavern: a dark, rich green that resembles the leaves of an oak at dusk's descent. A pair of sputtering oil lamps provide dim illumination -- just enough to see a modest lean-to in one corner, built from slabs of quartz. The structure appears weak enough to collapse with a strong sigh, but sounds of activity from inside prove otherwise.
Obvious exits: up, down.
[Supce's Lost 'N' Found]
Every square nook of this shop is packed with worthless debris. Rusted blades hang from the ceiling, clanking together noisily whenever the wind blows through the door. Water-damaged swaths of colored silk line the walls. When the air catches them, they billow and ripple, creating the illusion that the entire shop is painted in still-wet watercolors. You also see a large sign, a weapons rack with some stuff on it, and a rickety table with some stuff on it.
Obvious exits: out.
A large sign reads:
"Attention Landlings! Merchandise from ancient to just off the boat! If your ship went down and you see your cargo here, tough! It's mine! I found it fair and square! No haggling! No complaints! All sales final!"
On the weapons rack you see a spiked axe inlaid along the blade with corroded bronze, a rusty gisarme with a slightly blunted blade and a tarnished swept-hilt rapier.
On the rickety table you see a corroded gold cingulum decorated with empty jewel settings, a leather-lined cabasset, a tarnished silver gorget with milled edges, a delicate platinum frontlet worked with gold butterflies and a rotting leather armband embossed with cuneiform runes.
[Hidden Treasures]
Paper-covered figures crowd this small but festive shop, spilling over tabletops and hanging from hooks in the rafters. A small counter provides limited purchasing space, behind which a smiling clerk awaits all customers. Paper frills and ribbons flutter with every passing breeze, causing the room's contents to wave with colorful abandon. You also see a granite-topped table with some stuff on it and a driftwood table with some stuff on it.

[Iormethani's Godly Objects]
A short, silent, elderly Merelew woman in cream-colored robes sits, arms akimbo, on a deobar counter. Her face wears a dreamy, contented expression. Around her move several young clerks, easily navigating piles of pillows and stacks of neatly arranged inventory. A single lantern beams gently overhead, powered by the light of lazily circling fireflies. You also see a pinewood table with some stuff on it, a long wall rack of weapons with some stuff on it, and a pinewood shelf with some stuff on it.

On the pinewood shelf you see a tarnished steel flask stamped with a feasting goshawk, a dented copper flask stamped with a shrike in a shower of feathers, a lackluster brass flask stamped with a wild centaur trampling a wolverine, a rusty iron flask stamped with a shark severing an albatross, a shabby looking steel flask stamped with a heron stabbing a phoenix, a smudged silver flask stamped with a coyote leaping on the back of a donkey, a filthy bronze flask stamped with a king snake subdued by a viper, a discolored pewter flask stamped with an adder wrapped around a cow, a notched pewter flask stamped with a shrew and a grey-horned owl, a muddy copper flask stamped with a half-shadowed welkin holding a raccoon, a scored brass flask stamped with a black widow sitting on a dove's head, a scratched silver flask with a weasel with a chubby magpie in its mouth and a damaged bronze flask with a vulture pecking away at a jackal.
[Another Man's Treasure, Main Deck]
The deck has collapsed and is now lying in the battered hull, leaving only open sky overhead. Broken boards scar the floor, but paths have been blazed between crates under portholes that have survived whatever tragedy befell this once-noble ship. A fork in the path wanders off to an open archway in the facade of the wheel house, now leading into the lower bunk room. Gaps in the hull have been covered with rotting fishnets secured by frayed sail rope to keep the seagulls and other creatures out. You also see a silver and gold sign, a broken shelf with some stuff on it, an overturned bucket with some stuff on it, a curtain of dessicated seaweed, an irregular doorway, and a tangled mass of nets with a salt-encrusted shell on it.
Obvious paths: none.
A silver and gold sign reads:
The gold boxes are pocketed, but only contain boots. The silver boxes are unpocketed, but may contain shoes or sandals.
On the broken shelf you see a small plaque, a silver-wrapped shoebox and a gold-wrapped shoebox.
A small plaque reads:

A notecard reads:
"These boxes contain two items which will change your life once you know what they are. Be sure to read the two items inside the box before you unwrap them!"
On the mass of nets you see a salt-encrusted shell.
[Another Man's Treasure, Lower Bunk]
Being the home to all the sailors at the bottom of the pecking order, this room is very closet-like, yet has bunks for eight people. Each bunk is very slender, and the sailors barely had room to sleep on their sides. The eerie silhouette of a skeleton lies under a blanket on one of the middle bunks, its hand reaching slightly over the edge clutching something that has become barnacle-encrusted from many years in the sea. You also see a salt-battered boot rack with some stuff on it, a mangled claw-shaped hook with some stuff on it, a decaying hamper, and a disfigured archway.
Obvious exits: none.
On the boot rack you see some wormwood clogs riddled with dozens of tiny holes, some muddy thin-soled slippers with reedy straps of braided seaweed and some salty boots with rotting fish scales stuck to the heels.
On the claw-shaped hook you see a ragged belt with a barnacle-covered buckle and a rusted chain hip belt coated with a layer of brownish-green patina.
In the decaying hamper you see a dingy white shirt with sand-encrusted buttons, some filthy trousers with seaweed-lined pockets, a stained dress with frayed embroidery around the hems and a paint-splattered artist's smock clasped with a broken shell.
[Farhana's Exquisites, Sales Room]
Arched walls are hung with ivory gauze layered over pale rose silk, softening the light of the room and rippling with every breeze. Tall seagrass baskets filled with honeysuckle blossoms and curls of sandalwood and cinnamon bark are tucked in the corners, lending a light and spicy fragrance to the air. [Piralpa Tridents, Coral Showroom]
Sculpted in bas-relief, images of fish with childlike faces adorn the coral walls, their glassy gem eyes following any motion in the room due to tricks of light and shadow. The monotony of the rough walls is broken not only by these cheerful masques but by a series of thick colored bands, adding a rainbow of seafoam greens, ocean blues and pastel pinks to the otherwise pale coral room. You also see a sandstone arch, a sandstone rack with some stuff on it, a driftwood rack with some stuff on it, and a prominent sign.

You also see a speckled granite table with some stuff on it and a limestone rack with some stuff on it.

[Cartilage Crushers]
The dirt-streaked but sturdy canvas walls of the tent are lit by a few dented metal lanterns. Scarred wooden furniture is placed haphazardly around the area and displays a variety of wares for sale. Though the tent appears rundown at first glance, the merchandise is organized precisely and appears to be well cared for. You also see a scarred maple counter with some stuff on it, a rough pine bench with some stuff on it, a heavy oak table with some stuff on it, a reinforced shelf with some stuff on it, and a tent flap.

Dark and cool, the shop's interior gloom matches its exterior. A hastily strung banner, proclaiming the grand opening, has fallen to reveal the former occupants as "Glyth Tidings, Purveyors of Fine Liquors". [Lertonu's Legerdemain]
The tent is wrapped with sagging blue canvas, keeping out most of the weather. A towering three-headed statue of immortal Trothfang faces the entrance and the shadows cast from the statue shake around the tent. A nine foot tall skeleton flanks the statue, and prowling celpeze seem to occupy the corners of the tent.
