Decorated paper lanterns sway between the carved ironwood pillars that separate the ballroom from the dance floor. Their soft light flickers over the couples within, giving them each a happy glow. Fragrant roses spill over from niches at the base of the pillars to add an intensely sweet undertone to the vanilla-scented candles in the lanterns.
