- cloth was extremely expensive
- shoes even less common
- money
- most people don't see a lot of coin
- farmers have barter
- cities have wage economies
- 10 plats a year is about a clerk's wage
- most would go to rent
- most people in the city would eat 4-4.5 pounds of grain a day
The ability to use magic isn't that rare, but the ability and the time to train it is.

Holy magic is the one area of magic that may be common to the small village.
