Halloween Costume 2004

a suit of gleaming leather dragonscale armor in shades of warm bronze and red
Fashioned of shaped and hardened leather, myriad sizes of reptilian scales have been haphazardly pieced together with fraying leather thongs. Dull paper mache spikes have been affixed to the elbows, shoulders and knees. The larger scales have been dyed a deep red reminiscent of a sunset, when the sun has been all but crushed against the horizon.

a horned leather dragonscale helm with a polished steel visor
Fashioned of shaped and hardened leather, red and bronze-dyed reptilian-like scales have been pieced together with fraying thongs to form a full helm. A number of paper mache horns have been affixed to the top, curling into graceful spirals. Engraved with the visage of a snarling dragon, a slitted visor hangs down to protect the face.

a pair of gleaming leather dragonscale boots embedded with polished talons
Fashioned of shaped and hardened leather, reptilian-like scales have been glued over the top of a pair of riding boots. The larger scales have been dyed a deep red reminiscent of a sunset, when the sun has been all but crushed against the horizon. Yellowed buffalo horn has been fastened to the top of each foot, the sharp hook forming the toecaps.

a pair of gleaming leather dragonscale gauntlets in shades of warm bronze and red
Fashioned of shaped and hardened leather, small reptilian scales have been glued to a pair of riding gloves along the wrist and the back of the hand. Slightly roughened to provide a good gripping surface, the palm has been left clear, while the fingertips end in tiny, dulled talons carved from yellowed boar tusks.

a chain link sword belt interspersed with bronze and red leather scales
Originally simply a belt of steel rings, palm-sized reptilian scales have been fastened to every fourth ring, leaving one uncovered in between for pouches and the like. Covering the buckle, a larger scale has been dyed a deep red reminiscent of a sunset, when the sun has been all but crushed against the horizon.

a deep red leather belt pouch with bronze trim and clasp
Embossed with overlapping scales, this pouch appears to be made from the skin of some fantastic reptilian creature. Molded bronze teeth and talons tear into it from the clasp and trim, while a pair of simple rings and red-dyed straps allow for the pouch to be fastened to a belt.

a temporary tattoo of a crumpled red dragon with broken wings
Wings askew, an enormous red dragon lies lifeless, eyes glazed. A spear haft juts from its chest; an armored warrior, tiny in comparison, stands atop it, sword drawn and gleaming.

a temporary tattoo of a spear and sword crossed within steel grey knotwork
Worn, but well cared for, the weapons form an X, their points just outside the edges of the knotwork background. The spear, haft wrapped in leather, has a long, serrated point, while the sword's hilt is plain, and its blade is polished to a bluish sheen. A leather thong threaded with huge teeth and talons encircles them.

a deep red leather scabbard with bronze trim and clasp
Embossed with overlapping scales, this scabbard appears to be made from the skin of some fantastic reptilian creature. Molded bronze teeth and talons tear into it from the clasp and trim, while a pair of red-dyed straps allow for the scabbard to be slung over the shoulder.

a bronze-headed spear hung with crimson feathers
What was once a mop or broom handle has been turned into a crude prop spear, the top wound with light jute cord to secure a crude bronze spearhead. A pair of deep red feathers are attached to the base of the spearhead, their quills stuck through several black pony beads.
