Tarma Tale'sedrin Costume
Literary Costume Party September 2002

This outfit would eventually become the stylistic template for Vyrshkana's outfit.

a pair of trim black leather pants cuffed in silver embroidery
Cut to be worn with boots, light silver embroidery covers both legs from just below the knee to the hem. Stylized water patterns eddy and pool, swirling around jagged crescent moons.

a quilted black satin wrap-jacket with elaborate silver embroidery
Edged with stylized water patterns and crescent moons, the wrap-jacket tucks in at the waist and flares outward to swirl softly around the knees when worn. Designed to be worn over body armor, its sleeveless top is lined with rows of leather thongs and loops for the attachment of knife sheaths and throwing darts.

an ebony satin sword belt overlaid with knotted silver cording
Fashioned of a wide swath of black satin, the center is covered with intricate knots of silver cording so that small windows of black show through. Two thin strands of knotted cord hang loosely over the left hip for the attachment of a scabbard. Holding the belt secure, a sculpted silver clasp is etched with a crescent moon, its inner curve jagged.

Unfinished Designs

Some of these were actually done, but due to time constraints and merchant rulings, the looks were left off.

a pair of ebony leather knee boots capped in etched silver
Crafted of stiff black leather, these riding boots are heavily embroidered at the cuff, growing fainter down towards the toes. Stitched in silver thread, stylized water patterns spill down the sides to wrap around the ankles and crawl over the feet. A crescent moon has been etched on each toecap, the inner edge jagged.

a short-sleeved chainmail tunic edged in black satin
Though appearing to be armor from afar, this pale grey tunic has been intricately stitched to resemble its protective counterpart. Silver threading gives the cloth a metallic sheen, while the black satin edges have been embroidered with stylized water patterns.

a lacquered ebony scabbard with silver trim and endcap
Seamed and sealed in silver, this glossy ebonwood scabbard is unadorned save for the jagged crescent moon painted just below the attachment loops.

a pair of black leather vambraces laced with silver cording
Formed of stiff leather, these vambraces are still flexible enough to allow freedom of movement, be it riding, combat, or some other activity. A stylized crescent moon has been embroidered on the back in fine silver thread.
